When MARGARET reunites with her ex-lover LILLIAN at a funeral, MARGARET realizes that after three decades of building a family, she’s completely alone in the world. With a loveless marriage and children who have abandoned her for their own lives, MARGARET needs to find her place in this world. LIVING WITH THE PAST follows MARGARET’s journey as she struggles to accept her sexual identity while rejecting outdated social standards of motherhood and family. This LGBTQA fiction novel weaves the reader through past and present as MARGARET realizes she can no longer outrun her unsolved problems of the past. Will she risk it all to be her true self or will she once again compromise her identity and return to her domestic duties as she did so many years before?
